Some time in August 2005 I had the Idea to make a Ducati Cruiser. The idea just kept nagging at me till finely on November 2005 I received a Ducati 750ss engine that I purchased on ebay. Complete with wiring harness, exhaust and airbox. I then gently placed it on a towel in the middle of my living room floor and my father and I sat around admiring it and scratching our heads for 2 or more weeks.
Now it was time for a frame so we decided to cruise on down to Bob's used motorcycle parts in Phoenix Arizona (aka the motorcycle junk yard). And my father pointed out a almost new looking Honda VT600 frame. He told me that‚s the frame I nodded and agreed. So we bought it and took it back to the house and set it in on the garage table and gave it the eyeball. After a good hour of looking it over we came to the conclusion that it was bent. Needless to say we were bummed out. We took it back to bob's. Fortunately there was another VT600 frame there but it must have been out of a bike that was stolen at one point because It had been painted a frightening pink and purple. The frame came with the side stand, swing arm and shock.
Now we Had some parts and it was only a short matter of time till we had the engine sitting were we wanted and the frame stretched 5 1/2 inches up and 3 1/2‚ out. A good friend gave me the rear wheel and tire from a 2004 Yamaha R6. The front end held us up for quite a while since I wanted a Springer and the Honda neck was not helping the situation so while I was searching custom Springer frond ends on the net I found a guy who was making inverted Springer's. Bingo I said I will buy a Honda triple tree and make my own inverted Springer so my trees came in and my dad took over the job and did a wonderful job. The front wheel, duel disks, and calipers came of an old Suzuki GS1100 that was given me and that is now little more than a frame and engine. Most of the front brake lines are run internally through the down tubes on the Springer. Handle bars are aluminum‚ clipons and the grips hand controls and are billet chrome shinny things. The Tank is a Jessie James villain. The rear fender and the exhaust I built.
