"Snowman" Monster
Project By: Norman Brown (motomaxy@yahoo.com)
We made & sold this bike about 8 months ago for a guy with the last name of Snow & his named it "Snowman". It has one of our sport frame with about 2.25" of trail, 16 degree rake, and a 53" wheelbase. We use a swingarm & eccentric from a 9*6 as well as their adjustable front steering eccentric, so the numbers above can be altered quite a bit to suit the riders needs. We like to tuck the front wheel up as close as possible to the motor & on this bike it's so close, we had to make a special valve cover to give the tire clearence.
The paint is white with gold pearl & the pinstripes are decals under clear of gold barbed wire & gold leaf. The motor is almost bone stock & we rely on the weight & geometry to give it the performance edge in the twisties. By keeping the rearsets narrow & the exhaust tucked up out of the way, ground clearence is virtually unlimited.
We made the exhaust in house using .065" stainless steel tubing which exits thru 2 "cherry bomb" type mufflers. The tubing is stepped up with each piece so the diameter get's larger as the pipe continues. The can's are welder to the ss pipes & have polished stainless tips. The cans are then painted to match the bike.
The seat is a stock Monster unit recovered in leather. The tail lights are 4 LEDs, 2 for running & 2 for brakes, the 2 outermost lights are conventional turn signal lights. We used as many stock sbk parts as possible to keep the cost down, such as swingarm, shock, forks, triples, footpegs, and wheels, although the rear wheel is a 6" magnesium Dymag.
The motor is basically stock, we did tear it down to paint everything white & when putting it back together we threw in a light weight clutch & ported the intakes & matched them to the head ports.
With all the used 9*6 parts we were able to use, this bike sold for approx. $8500.00
