Super Squalo
Supercharged Ducati 999

Project By: Vee Two Australia (http://www.SuperSqualo.com/ or http://www.VeeTwo.net/)

Vee Two Australia is proud to announce that the much anticipated world release of the new Super Squalo, powered by a supercharged Testastretta Desmo V-twin engine, took place at the World Superbike round at Misano last Friday. This will also be followed up with an appearance at the world famous Goodwood Festival of Speed 7th, 8th & 9th July.

World renowned motorcycle designer John Keogh has once again worked with Brook Henry and Vee Two / Sprintex to design this unique engineering work of art, as the latest product of Vee Two's Squalo performance heritage.

As part of the AAC group of companies, which includes world-leading supercharger manufacturer Sprintex, Vee Two has come up with yet another technical breakthrough - the world's first volume production supercharged motorcycle of the modern era.

Each of the 99 individually numbered limited edition handcrafted Super Squalo machines will be powered by a supercharged Ducati 999 Testastretta motor delivering a race-level power to weight ratio and leading edge handling, and will include many unique features sure to excite the true motorcycle enthusiasts:
  • Unique, innovative styling by John Keogh
  • Sprintex supercharged Testastretta desmo V-twin engine
  • Six speed close ratio gearbox with Vee Two powershifter
  • Vee Two ceramic coated dual exhaust system.
  • Braced trellis-type single-sided swingarm
  • Ohlins suspension front and rear
  • Powered adjustable windscreen
  • Digital race dashboard
  • Rear-facing camera and in-dash video screen for rearwards view
The new Super Squalo, with its Vee Two tuned and Sprintex supercharged Testastretta engine, will deliver thrilling performance as well as usable power, with an output of almost 200bhp matched by a strong and ultra-flat torque curve starting very low in the rev range. This exciting combination is certain to make the Super Squalo the envy of all enthusiasts - as well as other manufacturers!

Super Squalo 01 displaying one of the five eye catching colour schemes available, will be displayed at Misano and will be met by bike number 02 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where spectators will get the opportunity to see the Super Squalo fire it's first shots in anger as it navigates the track in the guiding hands of Mr Anthony Hamilton managing director of Australian Automotive Components group of companies and the bikes creator Brook Henry general manager of Vee Two Australia.

    Super Squalo Re-Release (11 March 2008)

Australia’s Supercharged Super Squalo Takes World By Storm

Australia’s Automotive Technology Group (ATG) has released the world’s most powerful street bike – powered by a Ducati Testastretta engine and boosted by ATG’s patented Sprintex Supercharger.

The Vee Two Super Squalo (Squalo means shark in Italian) retails at AUD$75,000, with only 99 of the bikes to be sold worldwide.

After taking the 203hp (152kW) bike through its paces at the Isle of Man, internationally renowned motorcycle journalist Alan Cathcart said: "The performance is literally awesome - no other word will do. It delivers!"

ATG executive director Tony Hamilton said the Isle of Man track was one of the few locations where the true potential of the Super Squalo could be unleashed.

"Real world riding proves the Super Squalo delivers its 124ftlb (168Nm) of torque with both practicality and performance, just as it had done in our extensive development testing back home."

The bike has been styled by world renowned British designer John Keogh to resemble one of Australia’s formidable Great White sharks.

Manufactured at ATG’s specialist facility in Perth, Western Australia, the limited edition superbike has a Ducati 999S engine and chassis with Vee Two components, Sprintex Supercharger, Brembo radial brakes, Ohlins suspension, and high performance Pirelli tyres.

ATG is the largest manufacturer of superchargers in the Southern Hemisphere. The Sprintex supercharger allows vehicle manufacturers to increase the performance of their engines, improve fuel efficiency and reduce Co2 emissions. "Supercharging a high technology multi-valved V-twin in the form of the Ducati 999S is opening the motorcycle industry’s mind to the potential of supercharging for ultimate performance, while complying with increasingly rigorous environmental standards for emissions control," Mr Hamilton said.

"Supercharging delivers performance without guilt, and the Super Squalo is leading the way."

ATG also manufactures and distributes the world-renowned Ducati Vee Two spare parts catalogue. The Sprintex Supercharger is also utilised in the limited edition TMR 380 (see http://www.tmraustralia.com/380gallery.html) among other automotive applications.
